Your Role at a Glance
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will serve as a technical and cultural leader within the plant’s Quality organization, aligning internal processes with customer expectations while driving sustainable improvement.
- Champion safety-first behaviors and embed “fail-safe” thinking into quality routines
- Translate the Voice of the Customer into actionable improvement targets (Claims, NCRs, NQC).
- Lead and own the 8D problem-solving process, ensuring depth, rigor, and long-term prevention.
- Analyze quality metrics, trends, and leading indicators to drive strategic improvement roadmaps.
- Partner with Process Engineering, Production, and OpEx teams on defect-reduction initiatives.
- Conduct statistical analysis to identify root causes and guide data-driven countermeasures.
- Serve as a quality systems gatekeeper, ensuring compliance with customer, industry, and regulatory standards.
- Support and coordinate internal audits and post-corrective-action verification.
- Lead cross-functional quality projects without direct authority, influencing outcomes through expertise.
- Coach and mentor others in quality tools, methods, and mindset.
- Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Quality Manager.
- Promote deployment and sustainability of the Drive Quality Technical System.
We’re looking for a confident quality leader with strong technical depth and the ability to influence at all levels:
- Minimum 10 years of manufacturing quality experience, preferably in heavy industry or steel.
- Deep working knowledge of quality tools and methodologies (SPC, FMEA, 8D, Six Sigma).
- Strong analytical capability, including statistical data analysis.
- Experience driving quality improvements across cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on knowledge of quality management systems and compliance standards.
- Ability to clearly communicate, coach, and motivate others.
- Proven ability to lead through influence rather than authority.
- Self-driven, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Engineering or quality-related discipline)
- Master’s degree preferred
- CQE or equivalent certification preferred
- ISO / API Q1 Auditor or Lead Auditor certification preferred
- Willingness to learn new standards deeply if not already familiar
