As a Millwright Apprentice, you will participate in a structured, hands-on training program registered with the State of Ohio Apprenticeship Council. This program combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction to prepare you for a long-term career as a certified Millwright in a dynamic, safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Your Day-to-Day Impact

• Assist in the installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair of industrial mechanical systems and equipment
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities under the supervision of experienced millwrights
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
• Participate in scheduled maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and performance
• Learn and apply diagnostic tools and software for monitoring system operations
  
  

Safety & Compliance

• Follow OSHA, NFPA 70E, and all applicable safety standards and regulations
• Apply Vallourec safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space, and electrical safety practices
• Participate in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) discussions to identify and mitigate risks
• Properly use and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
• Report safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions promptly
• Attend safety briefings, toolbox talks, and required training sessions
  
  

Documentation & Communication

• Accurately record maintenance activities in the company’s maintenance management system
• Track parts usage and inventory levels to support operational efficiency
• Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity of work
• Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineering staff
• Provide feedback on training materials and apprenticeship processes
• Perform all other duties as assigned
  
  

What You Bring

We’re looking for candidates who are sharp, safety-focused, and ready to roll up their sleeves:

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of a pre-apprenticeship or vocational training program
• Ability to enroll in and complete a registered apprenticeship program
• Basic math, reading, and mechanical reasoning skills
• Basic computer skills (maintenance systems experience is a plus)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to follow instructions and work safely
  
  

Working Conditions

• Industrial environment with exposure to noise, heat, and moving equipment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces
• Availability for shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays
