What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Practice Educator Peds position at Valleywise Health System?
The Clinical Practice Educator (CPE) supports clinical excellence by guiding and elevating the education of NICU, Pediatric Acute Care, and PICU staff. Under the Manager of Professional Practice, the CPE leads onboarding and orientation, assesses competence, and identifies ongoing learning needs to strengthen patient care.
In this role, you’ll develop and deliver impactful education, support evidence-based practice, and participate in research and quality improvement initiatives. Working both independently and alongside leadership, the CPE fosters a positive, supportive learning environment that promotes professional growth and ensures exceptional care for pediatric patients.
Annual Salary Range: $79,913.60 - $117,873.60
Qualifications
Education:

Requires a bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing.

Prefer master’s degree in nursing.
Experience:
-
Requires a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible RN clinical practice or clinical instructor/educator experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certification/Licensure:
-
Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for current state of practice.

Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.

Requires BLS issued by the American Heart Association.

BLS Instructor required within six months of hire.

Requires ACLS provider certification within six months of hire.

ACLS Instructor certification within 12 months of hire.

Requires PALS provider certification within 12 months of hire.

Prefer ATCN or TNCC certification.

Prefer professional nursing certification such as Nurse Professional Development or clinical area specific (CEN).

Additional life support instructors or other certifications may be required based on areas of responsibility.
