Position Overview
The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, well-balanced meals that meet our residents' dietary needs while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals that are nutritious, appealing, and compliant with dietary requirements.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food prep areas
- Assist with inventory tracking and proper food storage
- Accommodate special dietary needs and provide alternatives as required
Communicate effectively with staff and residents regarding meal needs and preferences
- Support special meals or events as needed
- Previous cooking experience required; healthcare or residential facility experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and dietary guidelines
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, resident-focused approach
- Culinary certification or degree is a plus, but not required
