Duties
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, verify appointments, and manage check-in/check-out procedures using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic.
- Schedule appointments for ophthalmology consultations, laboratory tests, and optical services while coordinating with clinical staff to optimize patient flow.
- Manage patient communications efficiently via phone and email, providing information on clinic services, insurance requirements including HIPAA compliance, and appointment reminders.
- Handle billing and coding processes related to medical records, medical billing, and insurance claims to ensure accurate reimbursement.
- Assist with inventory
- Assist with lens verification
- Assist with fitting patients in frames and lensesQualifications
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures relevant to eye care.
- Demonstrated ability to manage medical records accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
- Experience in retail sales or retail management can be beneficial for understanding customer service dynamics.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of vital signs measurement, medical coding, and basic clinical procedures such as aseptic technique is preferred.
