Job Overview

Valley View School is seeking a dependable and caring Part-Time Cook to support our kitchen team. This position helps prepare and serve meals for students and staff while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment. Valley View School is a small, relationship-based therapeutic boarding school in Central Massachusetts serving boys ages 10–15. Our kitchen staff plays an important role in supporting the daily life of the school by providing nutritious meals in a welcoming and structured community setting. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a school environment. Prior food preparation experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals as scheduled by the Kitchen Supervisor/Chef

• Obtain food and supplies as directed

• Prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner

• Ensure the cleanliness of the kitchen

• Follow menus prepared by the Kitchen Supervisor/Chef

• Assist with dishes, cleanup, and kitchen organization as needed

• Perform other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Experience in food preparation preferred

• ServSafe and Allergen Awareness training preferred, or willingness to complete training

• Dependable, trustworthy, and willing to work

• Comfortable working around students and staff in a school setting

• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team

• Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and food handling procedures
