IT Project Engineer

8:00am - 4:00pm. Monday through Friday. On Call Schedule as needed.
Valley View Retirement Community is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Project Engineer to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, project-driven role where your technical expertise will directly support both team members and residents—helping ensure our technology is secure, reliable, and forward-thinking.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of IT project execution, including system design, server configuration, and network integration, while ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability. You’ll also collaborate on innovative smart-room technology and AgeTech solutions that help older adults age with dignity, safety, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support IT projects from design through implementation
- Configure and maintain servers, networks, and integrated systems
- Ensure performance, security, and scalability of technology solutions
- Support and expand structured cabling across campus
- Collaborate on smart-room and AgeTech initiatives
- Provide technical support and training to end users
- Work closely with the Director of IT on additional technology initiatives
- Build and maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Commitment to and support of Valley View’s mission and values
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in an IT support or project role
- Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Active Directory, Office 365, SharePoint, and VoIP systems
- Hands-on experience with structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, phone, video, audio, coaxial)
- In-depth knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks
- Ability to assess IT needs and train end users
- Knowledge of Linux and virtualization (a plus, not required)
- SharePoint experience (a plus, not required)
- Strong vendor management and relationship-building skills
- Passion for staying current with emerging technologies and IT trends
