Duties
- Assist customers in identifying and ordering the correct heavy-duty truck and trailer parts.
- Utilized electronic parts catalogs, VIN lookups, and OEM/manufacturer databases to accurately identify parts.
- Processed customer orders, quotes, invoices, and returns.
- Maintained a high level of customer service by providing prompt, accurate, and professional assistance.
- Answered incoming phone calls and responded to parts inquiries from walk-in and commercial customers.
- Managed inventory by stocking shelves, receiving shipments, cycle counting, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Recommended replacement parts, accessories, and related products to maximize customer satisfaction and sales.
- Maintained organized and clean parts displays, warehouse shelves, and counter areas.
- Built and maintain strong relationships with repeat commercial customers.
- Willing to be a team player and help ensure workspace productvity.
Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of heavy-duty truck, trailer, and diesel engine parts.
- Proficient in identifying parts using VINs, OEM parts catalogs, and electronic parts lookup systems.
- Strong understanding of major heavy-duty manufacturers including Freightliner, Peterbilt, Kenworth, Volvo, Mack, International, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, and Paccar.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills with commercial, fleet, and retail customers.
- Experience processing sales orders, invoices, quotes, returns, warranties.
- Knowledge of inventory control, receiving, stocking, cycle counts, and warehouse organization.
- Ability to source hard-to-find parts through multiple vendors and supplier networks.
- Proficient with computerized inventory management systems, point-of-sale (POS) software.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely handle heavy truck parts and materials.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and minimizing customer downtime.
