The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, stocking, organizing, and distributing materials to support production operations. This role ensures accurate inventory management, timely availability of parts for production, and proper organization of the warehouse. The Material Handler plays a critical role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production schedules, and ensuring materials flow efficiently throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving & Inventory Intake
- Receive incoming materials, verify shipments against purchase orders, and inspect for accuracy and damage.
- Accurately stock (put away) materials into designated warehouse locations.
- Label and organize materials for easy identification and retrieval.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods to Procurement or Supervisors.
Order Picking & Production Support
- Review work orders and pull required parts and materials for production jobs.
- Stage materials in designated areas to support production schedules.
- Ensure correct quantities and parts are delivered to the appropriate production areas.
- Communicate shortages or missing materials to supervisors promptly.
Inventory Control & Cycle Counting
- Perform regular cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with periodic full inventory counts and audits.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or tracking systems.
Warehouse Organization & Material Flow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse layout.
- Ensure materials are stored safely and in designated locations.
- Optimize material flow to reduce handling time and improve efficiency.
- Support implementation of 5S and continuous improvement practices in the warehouse.
Equipment Operation & Safety
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment (as certified).
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintain safe handling practices for all materials, including heavy or hazardous items.
- Report safety hazards or equipment issues immediately.
Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement, Production, and Supervisors to ensure material availability.
- Provide updates on inventory levels, shortages, or delays.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to inventory and warehouse processes.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–3 years of warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing or production environments is a plus.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn ERP or inventory systems.
- Ability to read work orders, packing slips, and inventory documents.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move materials throughout the day.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely.

Salary : $18 - $20
