Job Title: Powder Coating Operator / Painter
Location: Waynesboro, Va
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Day Shift 5am to 2:30pm or 6am to 3:30pm 9/80 schedule 5 days one week 4 days the next.

As part of our continued growth, we’re seeking a skilled and motivated Powder Coating Operator to join our finishing department.
Job Summary
The Powder Coating Operator is responsible for preparing, coating, and finishing sheet metal parts using powder coating systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all finished parts meet company and customer quality standards for appearance, durability, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sheet metal parts for coating, including cleaning, masking, plugging, and surface prep
- Set up and operate powder coating equipment and ovens
- Apply powder coatings according to specifications
- Load and unload parts onto racks, pallets, and or carts
- Monitor coating thickness, color consistency, and surface quality
- Perform touch-ups, rework, and quality checks as needed
- Maintain powder booths, spray guns, and curing ovens to ensure proper function and cleanliness
- Follow established safety protocols, including PPE use and material handling procedures
- Work collaboratively with production, assembly, and quality control teams to meet production goals
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–2 years of experience in powder coating or industrial painting preferred (experience with sheet metal strongly preferred)
- Understanding of surface prep, masking, and curing processes for metal parts
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, color charts, and job specifications
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
