Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy in financial records, supporting audits, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, is highly organized, and possesses a solid understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities
Accounting Functions:
- Perform daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
- Maintain and update accounting records and files.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
- Process expense reports and company credit card reconciliation.
- Generate reports such as balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial documents.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations.
- Assist with external audits and provide the required documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments to support overall business operations.
Payroll Functions:
- Processes of bi-weekly payroll and discretionary bonus payments
- Audits in collaboration with HR monthly benefits invoices
- Audits HRIS payroll reporting including but not limited to employee records, SWB deductions, tax, 1099 and W2 forms as necessary
- Ensure all employee timecards are approved and processed correctly
- Track and monitor PTO usage by staff.
- Collaborate with HR for onboarding financial setup and other related tasks.
Required Skills/Abilities
- 2 years of accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- 3-5 years payroll processing and benefits administration experience
- 2-5 years’ experience with Paylocity HRIS system
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Education /Experience
- 2 years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, other related accounting roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Experience with Excel
- Familiar with healthcare industry is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended intervals.
- Must be able to lift to 10 lbs.
