Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to assist in various pharmacy-related tasks. Your role will involve providing excellent patient service, ensuring accurate medication dispensing, and maintaining a safe and efficient pharmacy environment.
Duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently, following established procedures and protocols
- Utilize aseptic technique to compound sterile products, including IV infusions and inhalation medications
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care
- Maintain patient profiles and medication records accurately
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with insurance-related inquiries
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient concerns and inquiries in a professional manner
- Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines governing pharmacy practice
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug classifications
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems for prescription processing and inventory management
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation and dispensing
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing tasks
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues
- Knowledge of aseptic technique for sterile compounding procedures
- Familiarity with hospital or acute care pharmacy operations is preferred
- Understanding of medication administration routes and techniques
