Position: Sanitation Line LeadDepartment: Indirect Reports to: Sanitation SupervisorSubordinates: none
Hours: Full Time, Graveyard ShiftDays: Monday – Friday, OT & Weekends as needed
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Position Overview: This position requires the sanitation of food processing equipment and production area to ensure the facility is in accordance with food safety practices. Work will consist of routine tasks requiring identification of problems and everyday decision-making while ensuring that the assigned production line will meet food safety and quality standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Cleans and sanitizes food processing equipment, floors,wallsand related facilitiesin accordance withfood safety practices
- Required to sweep, mop and wash daily
- Ability to mix and use chemicals related to cleaning and sanitizing equipment
- Required to disassemble and reassemble machines for cleaning purposes
- Operate pressure washers,scrubbersand other janitorial type equipment
- Frequently lift/move hoses,equipmentand chemical containers
- Perform a variety of tasks while standing, lifting, crouching forlong periodsof time
- Exposed to cold, wet/water and freezer temperatures
- Adhere to and understand Valley Fine Foods’ HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs) and safety practicesand ensure compliance from associates working on assigned line.
- Proceeds with assigned duties ensuring several Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed.
- Properly shut off equipmentin accordance withequipment preventative maintenance procedures and reportdamangesto maintenance.
- Conduct a shift handoff and walk assigned line with Quality personnel to ensure line in ready for environmental swabbing andpre operationalinspection.
- Serve ascommunicationliaison between hourly personnel and crew leader or supervisor.
- Ensure personal safety by ensuring equipment has the correct safety mechanism; partner with maintenance if needed.
- Oversee weekly and monthly sanitation scheduled for assigned line.
- Ensure production area meets SQF and internal audit standards.
- Ensure that all electrical components are properly covered prior to sanitizing.
- Handle chemicalsin accordance withproper safety procedures
- Follow andproperly usedPersonal protective Equipment (PPE), ensure associates are adhering to the required PPE.
- Understand and follow lock out/tag out process
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experiencerequired
- Speak, Read and Write Fluent English
- Basic math skills
- 1 years in Food Manufacturing Sanitation
- Must be able to work overnight graveyard shift
- Able and willing to complete CGMP, HACCP, SSOPs, safety, and equipment trainings
