Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, managing fleet operations, and ensuring the timely delivery of freight.
This position requires strong communication skills, proficiency in transportation management systems, and the ability to analyze data effectively.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule transportation activities using GIS and GPS technologies.
- Manage dispatching operations to ensure efficient routing of freight.
- Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine for planning and execution.
- Analyze logistics data to optimize supply chain processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of shipping and receiving activities, ensuring data entry is precise.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and other stakeholders through multi-line phone systems.
- Monitor fleet performance and assist in fleet management tasks.
- Provide exceptional customer service through effective phone etiquette and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management and IronSight.
- Strong knowledge of logistics, supply chain principles, and transportation planning.
- Experience with dispatching operations in a freight or logistics environment is preferred.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret data for decision-making purposes.
- Strong typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes as well as 3PL operations is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
