Chief Nursing Officer – Valley County Health System
Valley County Health System has a fantastic career opportunity available for a Chief Nursing Officer. This is a full-time position responsible for directing, developing, and guiding areas of responsibility in strategic planning and overall efficient operations to ensure quality department outcomes which support the organization’s mission, visions and values in accordance with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Valley County Health System.
Responsibilities and duties of the Chief Nursing Officer include:
- Directing all aspects of nursing department operations.
- Providing oversight for patient care areas including Acute Care, Emergency Department, Ambulance, Specialty Clinic, Surgery, Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Diabetic Education, and Cardiac Rehab.
- Directing areas of responsibility through strategic planning and review of department operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Recruiting and developing a qualified and productive workforce.
- Performing employee relations and employee morale functions to promote a positive work environment, influence retention and enhance communication.
- Directing overall departmental financial operations.
- Promoting and ensuring patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
- Provides guidance and leadership as new services are implemented.
- Oversees functionality and effective use of EMR system in areas of responsibility.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education and/or Experience:
Current licensure in the state of Nebraska as a Registered Nurse
Minimum 3 years leadership experience preferred
