Primary Role

The Senior Outside Sales Executive is an experienced sales professional responsible for driving revenue growth through an established book of business while expanding Valley Communications Systems' footprint within targeted commercial markets. This role is intended for a senior-level seller who arrives with active client relationships, a proven sales motion, and the ability to independently manage complex opportunities from initial engagement through close and ongoing account development.

The individual in this role is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy, professionalism, and accountability, serving as a trusted representative of Valley Communications Systems to clients, partners, and internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, retain, and grow an existing book of business, including client relationships that transfer with the Sales Executive into this role.
  • Leverage an established customer base and active pipeline to generate immediate and sustained revenue.
  • Expand revenue within assigned accounts by identifying opportunities across audio visual, security, voice, clocks, bells, paging, managed services, and related solutions.
  • Identify and pursue new strategic accounts that align with Valley Communications Systems' target client profile.
  • Lead the full sales cycle, including discovery, solution development, pricing strategy, negotiation, and contract close.
  • Develop, present, and submit professional proposals, scopes of work, and pricing documentation for complex commercial environments.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for assigned accounts, acting as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions, opportunities, forecasts, and orders within the company CRM system.
  • Coordinate closely with internal design, engineering, project management, and operations teams to ensure successful project execution and long-term client satisfaction.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and revenue updates to management.
  • Contribute market intelligence, competitive insights, and pricing feedback to support company strategy and positioning.
  • Represent Valley Communications Systems in client meetings, presentations, and industry events as required.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of the company's solutions, services, and delivery capabilities.
  • Meet or exceed agreed-upon revenue, margin, and performance objectives consistent with a senior sales role.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by company management.

Accountability

The Senior Outside Sales Executive reports to the Director of Sales and is accountable for revenue performance, client relationship management, and adherence to company policies and sales processes. Secondary accountability extends to executive leadership and cross-functional teams supporting client delivery.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated success in a senior-level sales role within commercial AV, security integration, voice, managed services, or related technology fields.
  • Proven ability to arrive with an existing, active book of business and established client relationships.
  • Consistent track record of closing complex, high-value opportunities and managing long-term customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Strong understanding of solution-based selling, customer relationship management, and project-driven sales environments.

Travel

This position requires regular travel to customer, partner, and industry locations. Travel expectations will vary based on territory, account assignments, and business needs.

  • Professional presence and sound judgment when representing the company in client-facing situations.
  • Ability to manage multiple active opportunities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with internal teams.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid and current driver's license.

Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
