HS Academic Support Paraeducator (Part-time 25-30 hrs/wk)
Valley Christian High School is seeking a part-time paraeducator for our academic support program for the 2025-26 school year. Our academic support program serves a wide range of students to provide opportunities for each individual to succeed in the classroom. The candidate we are seeking should have some knowledge of learning disabilities and how they pertain to the education of a child.
At VCHS, our students come to school with a wide array of abilities, interests, and backgrounds. It is the job of our faculty and staff to engage each individual student and develop a relationship that not only supports learning, but also provides mentorship and wisdom in their Christian faith and on the journey to adulthood.
The preferred candidate will:
- Have experience and be comfortable working with students on a 1-to-1 basis, as well as in small groups
- Have some knowledge of learning disabilities and how they pertain to the education of a child.
- Have experience working with students in a small class setting
- Be willing to work with teachers to determine the best course of action for student success
- Be able to support teachers and students through preparation of relevant lessons for program participants
- Have math expertise/emphasis (preferred)
- Have a minimum of a high school diploma
- Profess an active relationship with Jesus and be involved in his/her local Protestant Christian church.
