What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guitar (Music) Teacher- High School position at VALLEY CHRISTIAN SCHOOL SYSTEM?
Valley Christian High School is seeking a part-time High School Guitar Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Guitar Teacher is responsible for instructing students in music education, helping students develop their musical literacy on the guitar. (S)He plans a balanced music program that utilizes varied avenues of instruction and learning to keep students engaged. (S)He also collaborates with other music faculty to provide multiple performance opportunities for students to showcase their skills for their peers and parents. (S)He serves as a Christian role model who promotes a student culture of a love for Christ, and a love for music.
At VCHS, our students come to school with a wide array of abilities, interests, and backgrounds. It is the job of our faculty to engage each individual student and develop a relationship that not only supports learning but provides mentorship and wisdom on the journey to adulthood.
Qualifications
- Experience performing, teaching, or instructing music (preferably in a school setting).
- A bachelor's degree is required. BA/BS in a related field (e.g. Music, Education, etc.) is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Active membership/attendance at a Protestant Christian church is required.
- Supports the Mission and Doctrinal Statement of Valley Christian Schools
