Long-Term Substitute Teacher (1st Trimester)-Elementary School
Valley Christian Elementary School is seeking a long-term substitute 2nd grade teacher for the 1st trimester of the 2026-2027 school year. Members of the elementary school faculty excel at creative problem solving and working with a diverse student body. The long-term substitute will ensure uninterrupted learning for the VCES students in their classroom. The successful candidate will be deeply committed to their Christian faith, have teaching experience, and a bachelor’s degree, along with a passion and joy for teaching elementary school students.

Responsibilities
- Follow lesson plans provided by the Teacher
- Manage the classroom effectively to ensure students stay on task
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of students
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom
- Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
- Model an exemplary Christian walk in speech and acts

Qualifications
The preferred candidate will:
- BA/BS degree required Education or related major preferred
- Passion for working with elementary school-aged children
- Experience working in an educational setting preferred
- Active membership/attendance at a Protestant Christian church (preferably CRC or RCA denomination) is required.
- Teach courses from a biblical worldview with his/her faith woven through lessons and teaching
- Supports the Mission and Doctrinal Statement of Valley Christian Schools
A bachelor's degree is required; teaching certification is preferred. Applicants must profess faith in Jesus Christ and be active members of a local Protestant Christian church community (CRC or RCA denomination preferred).
