Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, or designee, the school psychologist will be responsible for the evaluation of students; to perform psycho-educational assessment to determine appropriate programs and instructional services; to assist students in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, or academic problems or issues; to serve as a resource pertaining to student behavior management, social, emotional and learning strategies, and welfare and attendance problems and concerns. This job reports to the Site Principal/Designee and Director of Student Support Services THE DISTRICT HAS DISCRETION TO AWARD ADDITIONAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE FOR EXPERIENCED TEACHERS UP TO 28 YEARS.

Requirements / Qualifications

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, or designee, the school psychologist will be responsible for the evaluation of students; to perform psycho-educational assessment to determine appropriate programs and instructional services; to assist students in understanding and seeking solutions to social, emotional, or academic problems or issues; to serve as a resource pertaining to student behavior management, social, emotional and learning strategies, and welfare and attendance problems and concerns. Must possess a PPS Credential: School Psychology Must possess a Master's degree from a state and/or nationally approved program. Bilingual Preferred

Additional Notes regarding salary placement: (1) Newly hired certificated employees will be given credit for up to seven years of full time credentialed public school experience, experience at an accredited college or university, or experience in an accredited private school, and full credit for approved college units. (2) Initial salary placement for school psychologists and speech-language pathologists with no prior experience will be Range V, Step 5 ($ 89,516-$127,185). THE DISTRICT HAS DISCRETION TO AWARD ADDITIONAL YEARS OF EXPERIENCE FOR EXPERIENCED EDUCATORS UP TO 28 YEARS. (3) School Psychologists receive a $3,339 stipend annually (4) District approved Master & Doctoral Degrees will receive a $2,374 stipend annually.
