Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate is passionate about Pokémon, enjoys helping customers, and has a strong understanding of the Pokémon TCG community, products, and competitive play. This role combines retail sales, inventory management, event support, and customer engagement to create an outstanding in-store experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with Pokémon TCG products, accessories, and recommendations.
- Maintain knowledge of current Pokémon TCG releases, expansions, pricing, and market trends.
- Buy, grade, organize, and price Pokémon singles and sealed products.
- Manage inventory, restock merchandise, and ensure displays are clean and organized.
- Process trades and purchases while following store policies.
- Host and assist with Pokémon League events, tournaments, prereleases, and community events.
- Educate new players on gameplay, deck building, and Pokémon TCG rules.
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and handle cash, credit card, and digital transactions.
- Maintain a welcoming environment for customers of all ages.
- Assist with general store operations, including opening/closing procedures and light cleaning.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work days, weekends, and special event days.
- Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer and POS system proficiency.
- Must be at least 18 years old (or meet local employment requirements).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous retail, hobby store, or game store experience.
- Experience buying, selling, or trading collectible cards.
- Experience organizing or judging Pokémon League or tournament events.
- Familiarity with card grading services and card condition standards.
- Knowledge of other trading card games such as Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, or One Piece is a plus.
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
