Accounts Payable Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to lead our accounts payable team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes and will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, ensuring timely and accurately processing of invoices and payments. This role requires excellent leadership skills, attention to detail, organize, and the ability to improve processes for efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, coach and mentor day-to-day functions of accounts payable team, provide guidance and support.
• Oversee the AP Automation process, processing vendors’ invoices, employees’ expense report & business mileage reimbursement program, weekly checks run & payment transactions in compliance with company policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate payment to vendors, maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Develop and implement accounts payable policies, processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Monitor and report on accounts payable performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement.
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes and prepare reports as needed.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues and streamline processes.
• Manage vendor relationships and negotiate payment terms and maintain vendor master files when necessary.
• Stay updated on industry’s best practices and regulatory changes affecting accounts payable.
• Reconcile Corporate Credit Card monthly.
• Accrue Sales & Use taxes when necessary.
• Oversee and manage the year-end processing of 1099s.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum associate degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of general accounting practices and procedures and strong understanding of accounts payable principles and practices.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  
  

Shift and Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Compensation Details: The expected rate of pay for this position is $29.00 - $31.25 per hour, depending on experience.
