Valiant TMS, a global industry leader, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator to join our team in Auburn Hills, Michigan. In this role, you will support and promote a strong culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and regulatory compliance across the organization. Working closely with leadership and team members, you will help develop, implement, and maintain programs that protect our people, facilities, and operations. What you’ll get to do
HSE Program Management: Support and promote health, safety, and environmental programs that reduce workplace risks, injuries, environmental incidents, and operational losses while fostering a strong safety culture.
Risk Assessment & Compliance: Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and audits; recommend corrective actions; and support compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, EPA, DEQ, and other regulatory requirements.
Training & Safety Communication: Deliver new hire safety orientations, coordinate contractor safety onboarding, develop monthly safety talks, and promote ongoing safety awareness throughout the organization.
Emergency Response Coordination: Lead Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities, including first aid training, spill response preparedness, evacuation planning, incident investigations, and reporting.
Workers’ Compensation Administration: Monitor Workers’ Compensation claims, support return-to-work programs, and help reduce liability through effective claim management strategies.
Recordkeeping & Documentation: Maintain OSHA logs, training records, incident reports, and other HSE documentation to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate record retention.
Reporting & Performance Analysis: Track and analyze HSE metrics, injury trends, near misses, and compliance performance; prepare reports and recommendations for leadership review.
Chemical & Environmental Management: Maintain the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) program, review regulated products prior to use, and ensure environmental compliance related to waste management and disposal practices.
What we are looking for
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred.
Workers’ Compensation Experience: Proven experience managing Workers’ Compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of OSHA, MIOSHA, environmental regulations, and workplace safety requirements.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret HSE data, identify trends, and develop effective corrective and preventive action plans.
Project & Time Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities and complete assignments with minimal supervision.
Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to train, influence, and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
