Field Safety Professional: Detroit MI area, 3 plus years experience

Role Description The Field Safety Professional role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Detroit, MI area. This role involves performing daily safety audits and inspections, observing work practices, and identifying potential hazards on construction and industrial job sites. The Field Safety Professional will provide coaching and guidance to site leadership and crew members, deliver toolbox talks and safety training, and support the implementation of the client’s safety programs and procedures. Additional responsibilities include assisting with incident and accident investigations, documenting findings, recommending corrective actions, and tracking closure of safety issues. The role also requires preparing concise safety reports, maintaining regulatory compliance, and collaborating closely with project stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply safety principles in construction and general industry environments.
• Experience in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including understanding of relevant OSHA and industry regulations and standards.
• Demonstrated skills in Safety Training, including delivering effective toolbox talks, orientations, and targeted training sessions.
• Proficiency in Accident Investigation, including root cause analysis, documentation of findings, and development of corrective and preventive actions.
• Minimum of 3 years of field safety experience in construction, industrial, or related environments.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse site teams, influence safe behaviors, and build strong working relationships.
• Solid organizational and documentation skills, including preparing accurate reports and maintaining safety records.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office or similar tools for reporting and data tracking; experience with digital safety platforms is a plus.
• Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CHST, CSP or equivalent) are preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple job sites within the Detroit, MI area.
