Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards.
- Support medication administration following care plans and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, assist with feeding when necessary, and maintain a clean and safe dining environment.
- Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering social interactions and engaging residents in recreational activities.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s
to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance. - Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures during emergencies or accidents.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s care), memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
