Position Summary:
Vali Inc. has an opportunity for Crate Shop Material Coordinator working on the APS-3 project located in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The successful candidate coordinates and expedites flow of materials and crates between sections based on work order requests. This position will be responsible for coordinating and expediting flow of materials and crates between sections based on work order requests and will receive guidance and prioritization input from the P&P Supervisor and Supply Tech.
Position Responsibilities:
- Uses both paper logbooks and computer/electronic methods to record and report material consumption, stock levels, and ordering.
- Inventory lumber and materials on hand. Report results to leadership team and customer.
- Submit lumber report online using WPM website.
- Record consumption of lumber and materials as they are consumed.
- Inspect and perform operator level maintenance on crate shop tools and equipment. Perform and record pre-use inspections on tools and equipment.
- Check moisture level of lumber using moisture reader.
- Complete forms to include the Daily Board Feet Usage Form and the Daily Task Form.
- Take measurements of crated items in response to receiving a work order.
- Measure, mark, and cut lumber and plywood, construct crates, pallets, and projects primarily using nails, screws and bolts as fasteners.
- Provide quality control by verifying dimensions and specifications of a completed project.
- Communicate with requesting section and coordinate delivery or pick up of completed projects.
- Write materials supply orders (lumber, GFE consumables, GFE requests for equipment...).
- Receive materials/supplies and records results in log.
Position qualification/skills requirements:
- A minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in material purchasing, inventory control, and logistics in specific industries like DoD or EPCM projects.
- High school diploma or GED required while a Bachelor's degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is often preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems like SAP, GCSS-Army, or CostPoint is highly valued.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills are essential.
