Position Overview:

Vali Incorporated has an immediate need for a CFT Electronics Technician to join our team. The selected candidate will be involved in projects related to the development and prototyping of parts as required on weapon systems, communication systems, vans, shelters, and vehicles. This position supports the development of Bills of Material, Routes and suggested vendors to assure accuracy and fabrication capability of complete technical data packages.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works in close association with project lead on solutions to engineering problems and incorporation of design changes.
  • Partners with project lead and coordinates in making preliminary analysis of all known factors to establish methods of approach for a solution.
  • Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD)/Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software, technologies and techniques as appropriate and performs independent analysis of designs and proposed design changes to assess production factors such as form, fit and function, selection of material and second sourcing to ensure all design/fabrication standards are current and appropriate.
  • Checks to ensure adherence to of required application to DOD drawing standards.
  • Assists entry-level engineering technicians/draftsmen in creation of models, manufacturing drawings, and complete Technical Data Packages (TDP).
  • Coordinates with other division personnel regularly with regards to utilization of fabrication tools, equipment, materials and techniques.
  • As required, assists with the development of cost estimates, including research of material, and development of man-hour requirements for fabrication.
  • Performs Logistics Modernization Project (LMP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) functions relating to Engineering Fabrication and Overhaul operations.
  • Utilize Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System to integrate all data and organizational processes.
  • Establishes Manufacturing Bills of Material (M-BOMs) ad all piece parts requirements.
  • Consults with Production Management Specialists and Shop personnel and resolves discrepancies with engineering LMP/MPS data.
  • Studies and proposes solutions for delays in the production process. Assists in developing Shop processes for routing, equipment and time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three years' related experience
  • Two-year Associate of Science (AS) Degree in relevant technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Preferably an AS degree in electrical or electronic engineering/technology.
  • Accreditation of educational institution must come from an institution recognized by either the United States Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Physical demands/Travel requirements:

  • Wiling to travel 25%
  • Requires physical exertion.
  • Long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, rocky, or slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing, or similar activities.
  • The ability to complete recurring lifting of light to moderately heavy items weighing up to but less than 50 pounds, such as testing or measuring equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Work involves regular and recurring exposure to moderate risks and discomforts, such as the following: dust, strong orders, or fumes from fuels, chemicals, or engine exhaust; high levels of noise and vibration, dust, grease, electrical hazards, uncovered moving parts of machinery, moving machinery; or outdoor conditions involving moderate exposure to rain and cold/hot weather.
  • The work environment requires the employee to stay alert continually and to take special safety precautions including wearing special protective clothing and using protective equipment.
