Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, ensuring a smooth flow of service during breakfast and lunch hours.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders.
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, including wine and spirits, to enhance guest experience through upselling techniques.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and food safety.
- Handle cash transactions accurately, process payments, and provide correct change using POS systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards by bussing tables, resetting dining areas, and adhering to food handling protocols.
- Engage with guests positively, addressing questions or concerns promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and foster guest relations.
Requirements
- Previous food service experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred, especially in breakfast or lunch service environments.
- Familiarity with POS systems is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while multitasking efficiently.
- Basic math skills for processing sales transactions accurately.
- Experience with beverage service including wine knowledge, spirits, cocktail preparation, and drink service is a plus.
- Hospitality background with experience in fine dining or casual dining environments is beneficial.
- OpenTable familiarity for reservations management is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance sales opportunities.
