What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Specialist position at Valensa International?
Job Summary:
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for all daily warehouse functions to include: shipping and receiving products, organizing pull and preparation of materials for sales orders and managing & maintaining inventory records for Valensa at Eustis and off-site locations. Works with customer service to assist with shipments and foreign customer freight brokers and prepare required documents for timely shipping.
Job Duties and Tasks:
- Completes and verifies that all customer orders and/or stock transfers are accurately filled by comparing items, quantities, and lot numbers; ensuring that shipments are properly packaged and identified with shipping information.
- Prepare shipments by generating packing lists, pallet labels, BOL’s, commercial invoices and any documentation requirements as per sales order.
- Coordinates with Carriers, Customer Brokers and/or Freight Forwarders as required.
- Receive and verify the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against BOL’s, invoices, manifests, or other records. Distribute to appropriate locations and enter information into the computer. Deliver non-inventory items to end user.
- Checking for damaged goods and ensuring they are properly identified on the Driver shipping record prior to signing for receipt of good and communicating to Quality Assurance for inspection.
- Receives materials to be shipped with appropriate paperwork from finished goods or from individuals.
- Loads and unloads freight via forklift in all weather.
- Performs recurring cycle counts and audits of targeted inventory as requested.
- Follows all safety policy and procedures.

Minimum Requirements
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years' experience in Shipping & Receiving
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience with UPS shipping and WorldShip
- Experience with FedEx Manager
- Experienced in International Shipping and Documentation
- Computer skills [excel, word]
- Inventory management skills a plus
- Ability to climb stairs and lift 50 pounds.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
