Valence Surface Technologies is a full-service surface finishing company specializing in the commercial aerospace, defense, space and satellite industries. With ten strategically located sites across the United States, Valence provides a start to finish solution from NDT and chemical processing, to paint and sub-assembly.
Position Summary:
Provide, implement and administer quality control and continuous improvement programs within the facility. The Quality Control (QC) Manager position works directly for the Quality Manager and supports the Quality Department, analyzing processes for improvement using various methods of testing and inspection.
Responsibilities
- Understand and execute quality philosophies, principles, systems, risk, methods, tools standards and improvement systems, performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships and professional ethics.
- Manage organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction and supplier relations.
- Establish, promote and execute product and process quality, quality principles, including planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling, and measurement systems.
- Develop, apply and maintain quality requirements and standards for processes performed.
- Serve as the primary Quality Control resource to department supervisor(s) for issue identification, material and process review, issue resolution, loss reporting and continuous improvement.
- Support concurrent engineering efforts by participating in process development projects, first part integration, representing quality control and the customer.
- Design and implement methods for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection.
- Execute quality standards, inspection processes, test methodology, quality plans, documents and reports.
- Assist and maintain process certification for NADCAP and all other relevant certification registrations with a high level of system compliance. Sustain outside audits and recertification audits as required.
- Review customers purchase orders, contracts and change requests and ensure that the necessary criteria and provisions are included in quality and process plans.
- Work with Quality Manager in developing, executing and analyze quality-reporting measures.
- Establish, maintain and manage process improvement metrics to drive zero customer escapes
- Report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
- Participate in internal and external quality audits.
- Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning problems with quality control and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
- Serve as the quality control representative to the Materials Review Board (MRB).
- Compile, write and deliver training material on quality standards and activities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred, Field of Study: Engineering or Chemistry
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5 plus years of experience in Aerospace Chemical Processing work environment preferred.

Good understanding of quality testing to include analytical, evaluation.

Computer Programming Platforms, SPC programs, and Simulators, Visio, CATIA
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
