Role Description
This is a part-time, temporary, remote role for a Web Content Migration Specialist. The role involves overseeing the migration of web content to the LibGuides platform, implementing content strategies, and ensuring consistency and accuracy throughout the migration process. Responsibilities include organizing, structuring, and refining web content, monitoring analytics to optimize user experience, and collaborating with the VALE Program Manager to ensure successful transitions and meet project deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Program Manager and Outreach Committee to develop and update guides.
- Ensure consistency in formatting, style, accessibility, and usability across guides.
- Organize and structure content to support user navigation and information discovery.
- Review and update guides to maintain accuracy and relevance.
- Apply basic web usability, accessibility, and content best practices.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Library and Information Science (MLS/MLIS) from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of direct experience working with the Springshare LibGuides platform.
- Experience creating and editing web-based research guides or similar library web content.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an academic or research library.
- Familiarity with web accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG).
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS within LibGuides.
- Experience with Springshare products such as LibAnswers, LibCal, or LibWizard.
- Experience with usability or user-centered web content design.
Deliverables
- Complete transfer of all designated pages from WordPress to LibGuides.
- Verify that all links and resources function correctly.
- Document any content requiring follow-up or revision.
- Complete migration within an established timeframe.
- Accurately account time spent on project.
Temporary Position
- Up to $3,000 through June 30, 2026
- Possibility for additional hours in first half of Fiscal Year FY 2027 (July - December 2026)
- Approximate start date April 2026
- Approximate end date June 2026
