Requirements of the Inventory and Cost Accounting Accountant:
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting in a manufacturing or distribution setting
- Prior exposure to import-related accounting, including freight, duties, and landed cost allocation
- 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required
- Strong analytical mindset with proven critical-thinking capabilities
- Solid understanding of month-end and year-end close processes
- Experience working within ERP systems; Salesforce experience is a plus
- Analyze and reconcile inventory balances, ensuring accurate valuation and cost flow
- Track and allocate freight, import, and landed costs to inventory in accordance with accounting standards
- Support end-of-month close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Prepare and assist with internal financial reporting and supporting schedules
- Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to resolve inventory and cost variances
- Assist with ERP data integrity and process improvements
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis as needed
- Support as needed
