Requirements of the Automotive Controller:
- Prior experience managing accounting functions within a multi-rooftop automotive dealership environment
- Minimum of 2 years in an Automotive Controller role or 4 years as an Assistant Controller within dealership operations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
- Strong understanding of dealership financial statements, compliance expectations, and internal control practices
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to perform financial analysis and reporting
- Proven experience monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities to improve dealership profitability
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational capabilities
- Experience utilizing dealership management systems and automotive accounting platforms preferred
- Oversee accounting operations and financial reporting across multiple dealership locations
- Produce timely and accurate financial statements for executive and operational leadership review
- Analyze revenue trends and cost drivers to identify risks and improvement opportunities
- Supervise general ledger activity including bank reconciliations, manufacturer receivables/payables, reserves, and floor plan accounts
- Recruit, mentor, and manage accounting personnel across assigned locations
- Implement and maintain strong internal control processes to support compliance and audit readiness
- Monitor closing cycles to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to reporting timelines
- Support additional financial initiatives and administrative projects as required
- Support as needed
