As a Delivery Manager, you will join a team that uses weather observations, forecasts and models to build the data backbone of responsive, future-focused, AI-driven apps. You have a strong understanding of the weather domain and thrive on working with cross-functional teams to deliver timely, reliable, and high-quality weather data to internal customers. In this role, you bridge technical teams, product management, and customers, ensuring that data products meet agreed specifications and service levels. Preference will be given to applicants able to be Hybrid in our Washinton, DC office – we are open to remote.
What’s Your Role?
- Coordinate a multidisciplinary, global team—including data engineers, operational meteorologists, product managers, and research scientists—dedicated to generating, delivering, and maintaining weather data.
- Manage the end-to-end delivery process for data, ensuring adherence to customer specifications, timelines, and quality standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal customer delivery requirements, translating customer needs into actionable technical tasks.
- Monitor and report on service performance, proactively addressing potential issues to maintain high data availability and reliability.
- Facilitate collaboration between technical teams and stakeholders to resolve delivery challenges and continuously improve processes.
- Effectively communicate and partner with peers to understand high priority work deliverables and advise on resource constraints in advance of schedule impacts.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to perform at a high level as an individual contributor with strong time management skills.
- Other activities as assigned.
What will you bring?
- A minimum of 5 and up to 10 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong technical understanding of the weather domain, APIs, and cloud-based delivery platforms.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools (Jira, Confluence, cloud monitoring platforms, data analytics tools).
- Degree in Meteorology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience in data delivery or project management within a technology or data-driven organization.
- Collaborative, customer-focused, and proactive approach.
ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE: $95,000-120,000 annually with an annual performance bonus plan. Salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
