The Shipping Coordinator performs the day to day functions involving shipping and shipping data input. This position coordinates and communicates with other employees regarding shipping and transportation issues and concerns. Facilitating the smooth functioning and delivery of on- time shipments is of high priority within this role.
General
- Cooperate with other warehouse employees and contribute to a performance-oriented culture.
- Effective, professional, and timely, ongoing communication and intricate coordination with related departments, managers and staff to accomplish goals.
- Continuous evaluation and monitoring of processing times needed to perform core processes to assess performance levels.
Core Responsibilities
▪ Process outgoing shipments
▪ Coordinate the efficient transportation of goods
▪ Notify the sales department of issues preventing shipments from leaving
▪ Maintain accurate and timely ship out logs
▪ Responsible for monitoring and maintaining shipping/receiving office supplies
▪ Assist with other functions as needed.
▪ Process all shipment claims (lost, damaged etc.)
Ideal Qualifications:
· Operational experience at similar role a must
· Minimum of 3 years FTL or LTL dispatch experience
· Experience B2B sales
. Must be able to build a rapport with customers
· DAT and Internet Truckstop experience a plus
· Experience in rate negotiations
· Proficiency in Windows based programs
· Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Participate as a member of the VAHLE Inc. safety team ensuring warehouse employees follow safety protocols.
- Initiation and implementation of continuous improvement processes in area of responsibility and in close collaboration with relevant interfaces.
- Communicate any deficiencies in the warehouse observed and can be improved upon. Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by the Operations Manager.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of proven related job experience in shipping/logistics operations
- Proven ability to successfully perform warehouse, shipping and receiving duties Able to Communicate clearly and effectively
- SAP Experience a plus
Education: High School Diploma required/ Bachelor's degree preferred
