About the Opportunity
Vaco is partnering with a growing, industry-leading organization in the property claims and restoration space to hire Technical Repair Estimators. This is a fully remote opportunity supporting a high-volume environment during peak season demand.
This role is ideal for professionals with a background in construction estimating, cabinetry, millwork, or insurance restoration who thrive in a fast-paced, analytical setting.
Key Responsibilities
Review photos and submitted documentation to assess damage
Analyze and determine repair vs. replacement scope
Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using internal systems
Manage a high-volume queue of assignments efficiently
Produce 12-15 quality estimates per day after training
Communicate as needed with adjusters, contractors, and stakeholders (limited calls)
Ensure estimates meet service level agreements (SLAs) and quality standards
Required Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in:
Construction estimating, OR
Cabinetry / millwork, OR
Property restoration / mitigation
Strong understanding of:
Construction materials and finishes
Cabinet anatomy and repair techniques
Experience writing estimates and interpreting scopes/photos
Ability to work independently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Preferred Qualifications
Background in insurance claims or experience as a property adjuster
Experience with restoration (water, fire, storm damage)
Familiarity with estimating tools such as:
Xactimate
Symbility
Salesforce or similar platforms
Combination of field experience and estimating experience
Work Schedule
Operating hours: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST
Typical shift: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST (flexible based on business needs)
Training & Onboarding
3-4 week structured training program
Includes system training, shadowing, and hands-on practice
Ongoing coaching and quality review sessions
