Position Summary:
The Purchasing Specialist will oversee the procurement of all materials, equipment, and services for company projects. This role manages the full purchasing process-from sourcing vendors and negotiating terms to ensuring smooth coordination with accounts payable and project teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Handle end-to-end purchasing for all company projects, including materials, supplies, and subcontracted services.
Collaborate with the Director of Purchasing to improve and streamline purchasing processes and systems.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to secure competitive pricing, quality materials, and favorable delivery terms.
Enter and manage purchase orders within Sage Intacct and maintain accurate records of all purchases.
Work closely with project managers and field teams to anticipate material needs and ensure timely delivery.
Partner with the Accounts Payable Manager to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
Monitor vendor performance and resolve any issues related to quality, pricing, or delivery.
Maintain compliance with company policies and support ongoing process improvement initiatives.
Provide reports and insights on purchasing trends and cost savings opportunities to leadership.
3 years of purchasing or buying experience in construction or manufacturing.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Experience with process improvement and implementing new systems.
Proficiency with purchasing/accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
