What You'll Be Doing:
Maintain payroll and personnel records with the utmost confidentiality
Process accurate and timely weekly multi-state payrolls
Manage manual timesheet entry and coordinate payroll across multiple locations
Ensure compliance with union requirements and collective bargaining agreements
Handle certified payroll reporting and prevailing wage documentation
Process off-cycle and special payrolls, garnishments, PTO/vacation payouts, and pay card/direct deposit setups
Prepare and remit payroll taxes at the state and federal level
Support internal and external payroll audits
Submit workers' compensation reports to the insurance carrier
Partner with the accounting team on payroll-related GL reconciliations
Respond to employment verification requests
Contribute to process improvements and ensure ongoing compliance with payroll laws
In-house payroll processing experience is required
Strong knowledge of union and certified payroll is required
Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred
Familiarity with ECMS or similar ERP systems (HeavyJob/HCSS experience is a plus)
Understanding of prevailing wage laws and job costing
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience
Excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas, etc.)
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with changing deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Eagerness to stay up-to-date with payroll laws across multiple states
Salary : $26 - $29
