Interim Finance Manager (Note: this remote position was also posted in Chicago, IL - please do not apply to both postings)

Location: 100% Remote. Candidates in the Eastern or Central Time zones preferred.
Type: Contract / Interim (potential for extension or conversion)
Compensation: Target is $100 - $125 hour negotiable based on experience

Key Requirement: Looking for a Financial Analyst or Manager background (not a technical consultant) with strong Oracle EPM experience (templates or modeling in PBCS / EPBCS) required along with Essbase/SmartView experience

Vaco is supporting a high-growth, private equity-backed organization that has recently implemented Oracle Fusion and is now expanding its use of Oracle EPM to enhance financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analytics capabilities.

With new FP&A leadership in place, the organization is seeking an experienced Finance Manager with strong Oracle EPM expertise (e.g., experience building templates in Planning i.e., PBCS / EPBCS / Hyperion and using SmartView for analysis and reporitng) to help maximize the platform's capabilities and elevate FP&A processes. This is a business-facing role focused on finance and analytics-not a technical system implementation position.

This role will serve as a key partner to FP&A leadership, acting as a subject matter expert in Oracle EPM from a finance perspective. The consultant will help bridge gaps between current-state capabilities and best-in-class FP&A practices, improving the effectiveness of forecasting, planning, and reporting processes.

The ideal candidate will bring both strong FP&A experience and hands-on use of Oracle EPM in a finance capacity.

• Partner with FP&A leadership to enhance financial planning, forecasting, and reporting processes within Oracle EPM
• Leverage Oracle EPM to improve budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning capabilities
• Evaluate current system usage and identify opportunities to better utilize EPM functionality for finance needs
• Support development and refinement of financial models, dashboards, and management reporting
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve data quality, reporting accuracy, and decision support
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, and business stakeholders to align reporting outputs with business needs
• Assist in building scalable, repeatable FP&A processes and best practices
• Provide guidance and informal training to internal team members on effective use of Oracle EPM
  
  

• Strong experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or financial reporting/analysis
• Hands-on experience using Oracle EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) tools (e.g., Planning, PBCS/EPBCS, Hyperion) in a finance capacity
• Ability to function as a finance SME, not a systems configurator or IT implementation resource
• Experience improving or scaling forecasting, budgeting, and reporting processes
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
• Background in private equity-backed, high-growth, or transformation environments is a plus
