What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at Vaco by Highspring?
We are currently recruiting for a Director of Finance for a growing and well-established Richmond-area organization.
This position will report to the CEO, act as the senior finance leader, manage a small accounting team, and serve as the liaison with the parent company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead monthly close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Serve as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, providing financial analysis and decision support.
- Prepare management reporting packages, forecasts, KPI reporting, and variance analyses.
- Partner with operational leaders to monitor project performance, profitability, and financial results.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee financial planning, working capital, and cash management activities.
- Coordinate audit, tax, banking, and other external financial relationships.
- Drive process improvements, reporting enhancements, and operational efficiencies.
- Supervise and mentor accounting and finance staff.
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred
- 5 years of accounting, finance, or FP&A leadership experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Experience with large ERP systems and Microsoft Office
- Experience within project-based, construction, manufacturing, industrial, or service environments.
