CPA Required | Technical Accounting & Financial Reporting Experience Required | Hybrid - RTP, NC

We are supporting a search for a Director of Accounting for a local manufacturing company in the Triangle. This individual will be responsible for leading the timely and accurate preparation of monthly financial statements, managing the month end close process, and supporting special financial projects. This role partners closely with cross functional teams to improve accounting processes, systems, and reporting outputs. It is a hands-on position suited to a self motivated leader who works with minimal supervision and collaborates effectively with business and finance teams to reduce costs while enhancing quality and productivity

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close and financial reporting efforts across the organization
• Manage, mentor, and develop the general accounting team, including hiring, training, and developing and retaining accounting staff
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and provide technical accounting guidance
• Coordinate year-end audits and support preparation of external financial statements and disclosures
• Review and support consolidated financial reporting (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis
• Ensure timely completion and review of account reconciliations
• Support development and improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and close processes
• Maintain and enhance internal controls within the accounting function
• Assist with treasury activities, insurance processes, and bank reporting
• Contribute to process improvements for efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA required
• 10 years of accounting/reporting experience (public accounting and industry mix preferred)
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing distributed teams
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and consolidation systems
• Experience preparing consolidated financial statements; multinational experience a plus
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and collaboration skills in a fast-paced environment
