AP/AR Senior Manager

The AP/AR Senior Manager will oversee the organization's Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, providing leadership and development to both teams while ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial operations. This role will focus on strengthening processes, improving efficiencies, optimizing systems, and maintaining strong internal controls across billing, collections, payment processing, and vendor management.

• Lead, manage, and develop Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, providing coaching, performance support, and ongoing professional development.
• Oversee day-to-day AP and AR operations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Ensure billing activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with contractual requirements, internal policies, and applicable regulations.
• Manage payment processing activities to ensure vendor payments are completed accurately and within established timelines.
• Oversee vendor management activities, including vendor setup, issue resolution, payment inquiries, and maintenance of accurate vendor information.
• Monitor accounts receivable activities, including billing, cash application, collections, account reconciliation, and resolution of outstanding balances or discrepancies.
• Identify opportunities to streamline AP and AR processes, strengthen controls, reduce manual activities, and improve overall operational efficiency.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and technology teams to optimize accounting systems, workflows, automation, and reporting capabilities.
• Develop and monitor operational reporting and key performance indicators to evaluate AP and AR performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities related to AP and AR, ensuring appropriate reconciliations and reporting are completed accurately and timely.
• Perform and oversee operational reporting, account reconciliations, internal control reviews, and audit-related activities.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to requests, and ensuring appropriate controls and supporting records are maintained.
• Establish and maintain consistent policies, procedures, and best practices across AP and AR operations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, Operations, and other departments to resolve issues and improve financial processes.
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• 10 years of progressive operational accounting experience, with significant experience in Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable.
• Minimum of 3 years of people management experience, including responsibility for developing and leading accounting teams.
• Strong knowledge of AP and AR processes, billing, payment processing, vendor management, reconciliations, and internal controls.
• Demonstrated experience improving accounting processes, implementing efficiencies, and optimizing financial systems and workflows.
• Experience supporting internal and external audits and maintaining audit-ready documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret operational and financial data.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
• Experience working with ERP and financial systems; experience with system implementations, automation, or process transformation is highly preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
