Cleaner / Housekeeper – Residential Rental Properties
Part-Time | $20/hour
12–15 hours per week
Ocean View (Norfolk) & Newport News, VA
About Us
We are a family-owned residential rental business looking for a dependable, detail-oriented cleaner to help maintain two shared residential homes located in Ocean View (Norfolk) and Newport News.
This is a long-term position for someone who takes pride in keeping homes clean, organized, and welcoming. We're looking for someone who enjoys working independently, notices the little details, and can consistently maintain high cleaning standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize common areas including bathrooms, kitchen, hallways, dining area, and laundry room
- Room Turn-over - Cleaning and preparing bedrooms for new arrivals
- Sweep and mop floors
- Wipe down countertops, appliances, and shared surfaces
- Change and wash cleaning rags, bathroom rugs, and shower curtains (weekly/monthly as scheduled)
- Empty trash and recycling
- Refill soaps and paper products as needed
- Check and clean dryer lint traps
- Maintain organization of cleaning/storage areas
- Notify management of low supplies or any maintenance concerns
A detailed weekly task matrix will be provided.
Schedule
- 12 to 15 hours per week
- Flexible timing — no fixed time of day required as long as it's between 8am and 8pm
Pay
- $20 per hour
- $50 weekly gas reimbursement
- Opportunity for additional approved hours for deep cleaning if needed and additional room cleaning
