Scope of Project:
Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP) is seeking a User Experience Design Lead to support the CRIS Redevelopment, Expansion and Implementation project.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design of information systems for content-rich websites and web-based applications.
• Design and improve navigation systems, page layouts, workflows, and data management interfaces.
• Create responsive and mobile-first user experiences across multiple device types.
• Ensure user needs are prioritized and successfully addressed through information architecture and task-oriented design.
• Conduct user experience analysis and recommend improvements based on usability principles.
• Develop wireframes, user flows, prototypes, mockups, and other UX artifacts.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders, web developers, and design teams.
• Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
• Translate business and functional requirements into effective visual and interaction designs.
• Participate in usability reviews, accessibility assessments, and design validation activities.
• Provide leadership and guidance on UX best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Required/Preferred Skills:
• Minimum eight (8) years of experience leading UX design initiatives for websites or web-based applications.
• Experience designing navigation systems, page layouts, and data management interfaces.
• Experience designing for mobile devices and responsive web applications.
• Demonstrated expertise in information architecture and user-centered design methodologies.
• Strong understanding of usability best practices and accessibility standards.
• Demonstrated proficiency with WCAG 2.2 AA compliance.
• Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, mockups, and other UX deliverables.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into visual artifacts.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred:
• Experience with public sector or government digital services.
• Experience supporting large-scale website modernization projects.
• Experience conducting usability testing and accessibility evaluations.
