Responsibilities
- Safely operate a variety of commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers, dry vans, reefer trailers and roll-off trucks to transport freight across designated routes.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations.
- Manage route driving responsibilities with precision, adhering to schedules and traffic laws to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Secure freight properly for transit, especially when handling specialized loads like refrigerated goods or tanker liquids.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, load manifests, inspection reports, and delivery logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route updates, delivery statuses, or any issues encountered during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating manual transmission trucks is preferred.
- Proven truck driving experience with knowledge of freight handling and load securing techniques.
- Ability to load & unload cargo safely using equipment such as forklifts or other loading devices.
- Strong understanding of route planning and delivery schedules.
