Work Schedule :
100% FTE, night shift. Monday – Friday 11:00PM – 7:00AM. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Play an integral role in a patient’s diagnosis at UW Health. You’ll help bridge the gap between a tissue sample being taken and a diagnosis being made by a pathologist.
We are seeking a Histo Technician (HT or HTL) – Surgical Pathology to:
- Prepare tissue samples for examination under the microscope by grossing/dissecting biopsy specimens, embedding tissue in paraffin wax, performing microtomy and completing various staining techniques of tissue on glass slides.
- Basic instrument maintenance (temperatures, monitoring reagents), supply inventory and quality control to review and evaluate test or instrument performance. Interact daily with pathologists, residents, and both intradepartmental and interdepartmental staff.

- Associate's Degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology OR Education and training equivalent to an associate degree to include:
Education: 60 semester hours including either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses or 24 semester hours of science courses Required - Bachelor's Degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical, or biological science Preferred
- Previous laboratory experience Preferred
- Histotechnician/Histotechnologist (American Society for Clinical Pathology) or equivalent Preferred
