Project Coordinator

The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is seeking a detail-oriented Project Coordinator to support overhead powerline construction projects. This role works closely with project managers, field leadership, customers, and subcontractors to keep project information accurate, materials organized, and schedules on track.

The ideal candidate communicates clearly, manages competing priorities, and follows through on details in a fast-paced utility construction environment.

Duties and responsibilities consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support project managers with the coordination of overhead distribution and/or transmission construction projects.
• Collect and review daily reports, timesheets, equipment usage, and installed quantities for accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain project documents, including drawings, work orders, permits, meeting notes, and customer correspondence.
• Assist with job cost tracking, purchase orders, subcontractor documentation, and invoice review.
• Assist with progress billing by compiling completed quantities and required customer documentation.
• Coordinate project updates and meetings with field leadership, customers, and internal teams.
• Support project closeout, including as-built documentation, final quantity reconciliation, material returns, and outstanding paperwork.
• Follow company and customer safety requirements and promptly communicate concerns to the appropriate project or safety leader.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with office and field personnel.
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration/management, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in utility construction, electrical contracting, or construction project coordination preferred.
• Familiarity with overhead distribution or transmission construction terminology, materials, and work practices preferred.
• Experience with unit-based contracts, production tracking, project billing, and change order documentation preferred.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, utility work packages, and material lists preferred.
• Experience with project management, scheduling, or construction accounting software preferred.
