The Hydaker-Wheatlake Company is seeking to hire a full-time Substation General Foreman to join our growing team!
Essential Job Functions:
- Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of electrical crews, including Foremen and Journeymen, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Assign tasks, set priorities, and provide clear instructions to team members.
- Mentor and train crew members, fostering skill development and adherence to safety protocols.
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of electrical systems and components.
- Coordinate work within the tenets of IBEW contract and follow the ALBAT policies with regard to apprentices
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to resolve issues and maintain progress.
- Monitor project schedules and adjust labor and resources to meet deadlines.
- Promote a strong culture of safety by enforcing safety policies, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Inspect worksites and equipment to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all work is performed to meet quality standards and project specifications.
- Conduct inspections to verify proper installation and functionality of electrical systems.
- Address and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of work hours, materials, and equipment used.
- Prepare and submit daily or weekly progress reports to project management.
- Coordinate material and equipment deliveries to minimize downtime.
- Serve as the primary liaison between field crews and project management, ensuring clear and consistent communication.
- Represent the company in meetings with clients, contractors, and union representatives as required.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman certification required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Electrical Construction or related field preferred
- Strong knowledge in both civil and electrical substation construction, maintenance and related safety practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
