Job Posting Title: RN Nurse Manager ---- Hiring Department: Dell Medical School ---- Position Open To: All Applicants ---- Weekly Scheduled Hours: 40 ---- FLSA Status: Exempt ---- Earliest Start Date: Immediately ---- Position Duration: Expected to Continue ---- Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS ---- Job Details: General Notes Dell Medical School is seeking a Manager, Clinical Operations RN Purpose The Manager, Clinical Operations RN oversees the daily operations of clinical departments within the healthcare system, ensuring high standards of patient care and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, this role collaborates closely with physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals. Key responsibilities include managing staff, developing and implementing policies, and overseeing budgets. Responsibilities Clinical Operations Management Manages daily clinical operations to ensure efficiency. Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Develops and implements clinical policies and procedures. Staff Supervision Supervises clinical staff, including recruitment and performance evaluation. Provides leadership and guidance to the clinical team. Promotes a positive and professional work environment. Quality Improvement Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Monitors patient care quality and implements corrective actions. Ensures accurate and timely clinical documentation. Budget Management Assists in the preparation and management of the department’s budget. Monitors expenditures and ensures cost-effective operations. Allocates resources efficiently to meet departmental goals. Collaboration and Communication Works closely with the Director of Clinical Services and other senior management. Facilitates communication between clinical staff and administrative personnel. Represents the clinical department in meetings and discussions. Other Job Duties may apply as assigned MARGINAL OR PERIODIC FUNCTIONS: Training and Development Provides training sessions for clinical staff. Ad-hoc Projects Manages special projects as assigned by senior management. Regulatory Compliance Reviews and updates compliance protocols periodically. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Leadership Skilled: Provides direction and support to the clinical team. Effective Behaviors: Motivates staff, resolves conflicts, and fosters teamwork. Regulatory Knowledge Skilled: Understands healthcare regulations and standards. Effective Behaviors: Ensures compliance, updates policies, and educates staff. Communication Skilled: Communicates effectively with stakeholders. Effective Behaviors: Prepares clear reports, presents findings, and facilitates discussions. Quality Management Skilled: Monitors and improves patient care quality. Effective Behaviors: Identifies issues, implements solutions, and ensures documentation accuracy. Budgeting Skilled: Manages departmental budget efficiently. Effective Behaviors: Allocates resources, monitors expenditures, and ensures cost-effectiveness. Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Minimum of 5 year(s) of nursing experience in a clinical setting and 2 year(s) of supervisory experience. Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration with at least 7 year(s) of nursing experience in a clinical setting. Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML), or Nurse Executive-Board Certified (NE-BC). Salary Range $100,500 depending on qualifications WORKING ENVIRONMENT/EQUIPMENT Standard office equipment Repetitive use of a keyboard May be exposed to such occupational hazards as communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, hazardous medications and disoriented or combative patients, or others.
