The Digital Media Department at Utah Valley University is seeking a student audio studio lab assistant!
Summary of Responsibilities
- Mentoring students on the correct use of lab equipment, checking equipment in and out.
- Maintain and properly store equipment.
- Schedule lab or equipment time for the students.
- Work closely with faculty and assist where needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Current UVU student.
- Must have passed digital audio portfolio review.
- Must be enrolled in or have previously passed the Core Recording class.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of the studio complex, patchbays, routing and signal flow of the audio studio.
- Knowledge of the Digital Media classrooms and equipment.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Scheduling experience.
- High level of confidence in soldering, crimping, and building cabling.
- Ability to follow schedules and procedures.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student records.
- Must be proficient in Pro Tools, SSL Duality and Audient Consoles.
- Must be able to lift, bend, and stand for extended period or time.
- Must be able to move around the classroom to assist students and faculty
